Road Trip!!!!!

Behold the "Buxton Rolling Bed and Breakfast", today I will be taking inventory to make sure we have all the needed supplies on board for our road trip to Louisiana tomorrow. We are headed there for the family viewing of a 4D ultrasound of Grand baby #5 under construction.

I always get excited for road trips especially since we now have the ease of start her up and go, no directional backing to hook up a monster bumper pull travel trailer to the truck, which was always a true test of team work, and patience and the ability to guide, direct and listen to your partner. We always did pretty well, but I do not miss that part of the beginning of each and every one of our road trip adventures. So this morning I will go into the RV that has been patiently waiting for our next road adventure, to take inventory, make the beds, put towels and rugs in place, and load my clothes and other neccessities. Yes I said MY. I learned early on in our relationship that everyone will be responsible for packing for themselves...after I mistakenly packed two different shoes for my husband, and they were his only pair of shoes for riding (the motorcycle), and we had to make a trip to the Harley store to purchase a new pair of riding shoes (which he really didn't need). However, the luxury of owning our RV, allows us to leave many of the necessities we need in the RV at all times. The other luxury we now have is the fact that we now have enough land to park it at home all the time, rather than store it somewhere else, which was a little of an inconvenience, when you are like us and want to pick up and go at a moments notice. We had to plan a little more in advance and allow extra time, to go hook it up and bring it home, to do all the prep work for our trips. Fortunately since the house backed up to a church, there was a parking lot behind the house, we could pull right up behind the back fence, and since there was a gate into the backyard, we would then make many trips back and forth to load and unload. As the house was situated in a Cul-de-sac there was NO WAY we could have ever manipulated that monster bumper pull in and out of our street. We were very thankful that even though we did not attend The Church of the Nazerene, the preacher was kind enough to give us permission to use the parking lot during Non church times. Now we have moved 26 miles north of there to Magnolia, where we have a house that sits on over an acre, with two drive ways, and an out building equivalent to the size of our 3 car garage, that houses all the recreational "toys" - tractor, riding mower, Harley, Chuck Wagon, and the 2nd drive where the RV sits...within a few feet of the main house, ready to roll at a moments notice!

It is Mr. Bux's responsibility, to make sure all maintenance items are taken care of and that the exterior is well groomed, after all we must be at our shiney best while en route... as you can see sometimes he works way into the dark to get this accomplished..

>
Before we embark it is my task to make sure all is secure, doors, cabinets, no items on counters, etc, I feel like a flight attendant walking from front to back checking cabinets, and such...

So tomorrow morning, we will be on our way, dogs and all...

Snappy will more than likely be riding here....

And Bebe will be relaxing here....

And we will be off doing what we love most....on the road again...together...all of us... and we are also excited about being able to stop at the Casino along the way...just a little bit!!
Time for me to get us "Ready to Roll"
Have a wonderful and blessed day!!! See you when we return.

It's time to JUST DO IT!!

It's been a long time since I've blogged...why? I got very intimidated by the blog process, trying to download photos and get them in the right spot. It was a process that was taking me nearly all day to do. With that said, I have missed blogging and am determined to get it down to a short and timely process. Shorter more frequent blogs that may or may not include photos.

It is a beautiful crisp sunny day outside, too cold still to begin yard work and spring planting. According to Mr. Groundhog we still have several more weeks of winter. I am anxious to get out there and bring the yard back to life, and to find out how many of our plants will once again turn green. Kind of like waiting to see what Santa left....

Other happenings this week are a road trip to Lafayette in the rolling "Buxton Bed and Breakfast". We are going to see the newest "Grand baby in progress" via 4D Ultrasound, Rick's 2nd daughter Lindsey is due with little Miss Mckenzie Belle Thibodeaux around the 25th of April. Meanwhile, I have been busy making her announcement wreath that will greet guests at the door of her shower in March, and will then hang on her hospital door once she is born. It's been a tradition for me to make the door decoration for all of the grand babies, which I love to do. Since the nursery colors are pink, cream, and brown and Lindsey requested I use tulle this is how the creation has turned out using cream and pink tulle, tiny brown ribbon bows with pink pearl pins and Swarovski tear drop crystals. I am still tweaking the placement of the brown bows which is easy to do since they are pinned on. The additional ribbon streamers will contain all of Miss Mckenzie's stats once she arrives.

Have a wonderful and blessed day!
